These are the fundamental values of Demonkind:
— Compassion
Compassion provides balance to ego. It instills a burning drive to uplift and support those who need a hand, based on the needs they express. Helping others also benefits ourselves by giving us reason and motivation to push forward. This is the most important of all our values, providing the meaning behind the others.
— Science with Spirit
The scientific method provides tools for understanding the world without imposing imaginary faith. At the same time, we understand that scientific knowledge constantly evolves, and every claim can be tested and updated. Everything and everyone has the potential for improvement, including every word here. Importantly, science does not actually oppose magic or spirituality! It only serves to help us understand them better.
— Prismatic Perspective
Diversity is beautiful. People who cling to fears about anyone different from themselves live impoverished small lives. The differences between us make our lives much richer. We look to a multitude of perspectives for the bigger picture. We also believe that all life shares one soul or spirit together, with individuals being just a momentary emergence from the whole.
— Embrace of the Dark
We use the language, symbols, and rituals of the occult. We do this for pleasure, for reinforcement of our messages, for the foundation of our culture, for insight, and for the creation of newer and more powerful versions of ourselves. As part of this culture we are “death positive”: honoring our mortality to defeat fear and live in wholeness.
— Rebellion
Representing the dark, the outsider, the primal, and the wounded, we are inherently anti-authoritarian, anti-fascist, anti-patriarchal, and anti-theocratic. Those oppressive systems try to keep us muffled, inactive, in a zombie state, fearful, and powerless. We resist, and our fire burns brightly; we share this fire with you.
